One World One Dream
Posted on August 6th, 2008 at 1:16 pm by Celia and
“One world one dream” is a motto from the 2008 Olympics held in
Beijing. “World” reflects unity. Unity means that everyone comes together. Unity is important to the Chinese people because they want the world to come together in a sporting greatness. “Dream” means trying your best. You may not get gold, though you tried your best and you participated. “World” also means peace. It is very important to the Chinese people because they don’t want an argument at the Olympics.
What do you think “one world one dream” means?

We love each other
We play together
We care for each other
We have fun
Under the sun
Friends are always happy
Friends give each other a helping hand
A friend in need is a friend indeed
Volcanoes
Posted on April 9th, 2008 at 11:29 am by Celia and
Nadine and I chose to do volcanoes as part of our natural diasters project.
Q: How are volcanoes created? A: They are created by tectonic plates beneath the earth’s surface. When they collide towards each other it’ll cause a volcano. The volcano will have a hole, causing magma beneath the earth’s surface to leak out which is the lava.
Image from Google.Did you know that? Magma is actually rocks but because it is so hot it turns into runny, hot, and liquid.
Image by Google When lava is dried it’s like a rock. Careful it’s sharp!!!
What are Underwater Volcanoes?Under water volcanoes are volcanoes which occur under the water. Underwater volcanoes can cause another island. That is exactly how
Hawaii came to life.
MissionMaker Planning 2
Posted on September 28th, 2007 at 11:34 am by Celia and
For my MissionMaker game, that we have been focusing for these couple of weeks, we have been busy planning and playing on MissionMaker. I already had typed a plan on my blog and I have been asked to do another plan.
This is my second plan: I decided to make my MissionMaker story to be like a Choose Your Own Adventure story. So for that result, I thought it will work if I leave pieces of paper on the floor for players to find. I also had to plan my rooms. To help I have been reading a couple of Anne Frank (that’s my topic I have to base my game on) stories. I tried to try to relate the rooms on the things she had done in her life time. I also added some other rooms to make it more exciting.
Here are some rooms that I thought might be good for my MissionMaker story:
* Her hiding
* Her dad’s workplace/office
* Her school
* Some rooms for her to search information (I made that up)
* Her house
* Nazi’s office
* Concentration Camp
Here are some things I have planned earlier:
* You’re in your house your mother asks you do you want to move into a hiding or do you want to move overseas to another country. You only get 10 seconds to decide but decide carefully.
* You’re hungry you want to buy something to eat but you don’t have enough money. You have to look for money to buy something to eat.
* Your cold so your mother asks you to look for some clothes. You also should be careful otherwise the Nazi army. Also animals are guarding the clothes you have to try to outsmart the animals.
* You also need to look for information to know when you need to beware of the Nazi team. Also you should beware of strangers otherwise they might carry you to the Nazi team.
* You got two choices you can go to school or you can stay home and your mum will have to teach you. At home if your mum educates you she wouldn’t be that well like a trained teacher. You also need to beware of the Nazi team.
* You want a diary to write every thing that you did in your life time but are careful
MissionMaker Story 1

Setting = Secret Annex, Concentration Camp
Characters = Anne Frank’s family, Hilter’s army, Hitler , Anne Frank
Anne Frank, Things need to collect = food to eat, clothes to wear, diary/notepad for her to write in, money to buy needed things, info to try to not allow Hilter’s army to find them
Hitler’s Army, Things need to collect gun to shoot them
Hitler’s Army, Things they need to find place for concentration camp, Anne Frank’s family members
You are Anne Frank. The NAZIs try to capture you, you have to try to escape or if you want you can go in a hiding. You can decide what you want but you should try to choose carefully. You should choose quickly otherwise the NAZI army will find you. Try to find extra information too.
You’re in Amsterdam you got lots of information that you’re in danger. Your parents told you to select between two choices but they told you to select carefully otherwise it will be the end of your life. You only get 5 minutes to select between the two choices.
You have to collect food so your family won’t starve; you also should collect money to buy things such as clothes, you should also collect clothes so you don’t freeze, diary/notepad so you can write every event and also info so you can try to avoid the army.
Medieval Era

These few weeks we have been searching on three eras.
This is a paragraph me and Kesia( a good friend ) made on the Medieval Era:
The Middle Ages ( Medieval Era ) occurs in the 500’s to the 1500’s. In the Middle Ages there was lots of battles. The battles helped them improve their skills & weapons.
King Alfred won his 1st battle when he was only 21 yrs old. He was also the wisest king in all lands.In the, Middle Ages he also opened a court school. He also invented a foreigien schoolars.
After the wars,battles and inventions they began another group of time called the “Mordern Era”.

Sandy

Sandy
It was a sunny day, where the beach was crowded and I was nearly all squashed. I had to squish and squash to have a swim where it is cooler and not too crowded. Then, suddenly everybody stared at the sky. Up in the sky there was a towel –like- thing gliding. It was gigantic. I was scared that it would drown, so I gave it a warning and shouted “Watch out!” But it ignored me, so I thought that probably it could swim. It glided lower and lower towards the ocean, when its towel body got wet in a wave, and the strange creature began to sink. It could have drowned but it was lucky because I saved it from drowning.
When I saw it up close, it did look pretty scary. I think the sharp, orange crab nippers were the scariest as they were waving around in the air, making snapping noises like it wanted to nip me. Her legs looked like ocean waves, blue and wavy; her red face on her sand-castle head looked a bit angry at all the people gathered on the beach. But it sounded friendly when it asked me if I wanted to play.
First, I was the only one playing with it, but then more and more people started to play with the friendly creature. Then, I wondered what its name was. So, I asked her and she said her name was
Sandy.
