Bang!! Whoosh. All of the sudden people rushed off like the waves coming ashore. A big group turned into little pieces of things scattered everywhere. They all were trying to gain first. Later… Everyone was huffing and puffing, though they still kept going and going. A while later… Yeah!!!
A few people were jumping around. They were screams and laughter. Though there was another story, for some they just sat and felt disappointed in themselves.

Celia - I love the way that you’ve told the story of the Cross Country race without actually using those words (Cross Country race).
Your picture was a good clue for those people who didn’t really know at first what you were writing about.
You used images to help show what the scene looked liked, and your ending that showed the two very different responses of participants was excellent.

Hi Celia,
I really like the words you used for the sentences! Looks like your telling a real story in a book!
I really was so tiered when I started running even people started pushing and shoving!!

Hi,
I particapated in the cross country but did not make it to the next level. When I was done I felt like my heart was about to pop out of my chest and start bouncing away. Congratulations to the people that did make it to the next level and for the people that didn’t there is always a next time either on this school for the other stages or in highschool for the year sixs.

I agree with Mrs.P that it is sort of like a mystery and there is only one clue and at first I thought you where talking about the endurance run!

Hi Celia,
Great to see you come to our class blog. We are about to have our “huffing and puffing” race tomorrow. Maybe some of my students will write about it in their blogs. Probably will be binga or dotti as they will be representing our class.

Hi, Miss W.
I think that’ll be a great idea. I’d like to know what they thought about it.
I felt very tired.
I wonder how they feel after their “huffing and puffing”???
Happy Blogging,
Celia
